Ashley Boykin Kartal
I was born in New Orleans and at an early age my mom introduced me to reading and writing and I never looked back. While I was modeling, I edited papers to supplement my income and discovered that I loved writing so much that I should make it a major. In 2009, I graduated with a degree in journalism and political science from Troy University.
I love traveling and love learning about other cultures and just when I think that I can't live out of a suitcase anymore, I start planning my next trip. I spend my summers in the Aegean region of Turkey playing tennis, swimming and of course, playing okey. I spent most of 2010 living in Turkey and then traveling to Central and South America on a container ship.
I have started mentoring and tutoring teen girls to help them graduate from high school and am also teaching a class about online media and how to research sources.
